B. J. Halow & Son Constructors Ltd. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for B. J. Halow & Son Constructors Ltd. for the operation of a mobile crushing screener plant, equipped with one primary jaw crusher, one secondary cone crusher, one screening plant, and three material transfer conveyors and supported by, the control tower / power van which houses:

• one 800 kW diesel electric generator,
• work lighting,
• portable heaters (frost fighters),
• two loaders feeding rock from feedstock piles into the primary jaw crusher,
• two excavators loading product to trucks, and
• one small skid steer loader

The equipment will be used to process aggregate throughout the Province of Ontario and can potentially operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and 52 weeks per year with crusher / screener operations up to 20 hours per day.

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

• total suspended particulate, and
• products of combustion such as nitrogen oxides
