Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) No. 4729-9A3LBX for HK Travel Centres GP Inc., as general partner for and on behalf of HK Travel Centres L.P., to serve the Odessa ONroute Service Centre located on Highway 401 within Part of Lots 9 and 10, Concession 4 (western addition) in the City of Kingston, Ontario.

The proposed amendment is to increase the rated capacity of the wastewater treatment plant, inclusion of sludge management strategies to reduce sludge disposal requirements, addition of limited operational flexibility at the plant, amended monitoring requirements, and modified effluent limits to accommodate the transition of discharge to groundwater. The wastewater treatment works are designed to meet tertiary treatment before discharging into a drainage ditch infiltrating into fractured bedrock.

The Ministry may require monitoring of the wastewater discharge leaving the site.
