YORK1 Nugget Transfer Ltd. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4099-C4GRBB for York1 Nugget Transfer Ltd., a waste transfer and processing facility located in the City of Toronto, Ontario.

The emission sources from the processes that discharge to the air include waste processing, soil processing and transfer operations. The amendment includes a maximum incoming rate of solid non-hazardous waste of 365, 000 tonnes per year, maximum incoming rate of waste (including waste soil) is 3000 tonnes and maximum incoming rate of excess soil of 730, 000 tonnes per year.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• benzene
• bromoform
• odour
• toulene
• xylenes, and
• nitrogen oxides

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
