Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) no. 4957-CQUHQ5 to add a new on-site private sewage disposal servicing the "Algoma House" and the "Office", located at 7841 4th Line Angus, Township of Essa, County of Simcoe, Ontario.

The sewage treatment system will consist of a septic tank and pump chamber for the office building, pumping to a Bionest treatment system servicing Algoma House and the Office, and discharging effluent to a new in ground leaching bed. The existing septic tank and leaching bed currently servicing Algoma House and the Office will remain in place and be utilized for part of the Algoma House, as internal building plumbing will not allow the entirety of flow from Algoma House to be conveyed to the proposed sewage disposal system. In addition, the proposed "Land Centre" building has been revised and is now a three-bedroom house.

The overall site (the entire Camphill Communities property) flow is 16,081 liters per day. The flow rate related specifically to the proposed works is 2,025 liters per day. The septic system for that building was historically constructed, and will be connected to the proposed house once the house is constructed on the site.
