LES ENTREPRISES H.D.J.S. GASCON LIMITEE/ LIMITED - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for Les Entreprises H.D.J.S. Gascon Limitée/Limited for proposed stormwater management sewage works consisting of stormwater quantity and quality control measures designed to collect, convey, temporarily store, treat, and discharge stormwater runoff generated across the Site.

The proposed sewage works will service the existing non-hazardous waste transfer and processing facility located at 5320 Highway 17, Alfred and Plantagenet, Ontario. The proposed works include vegetated drainage ditches, a Stormceptor oil/grit separator, a stormwater management pond, outlet control structures, and associated stormwater management infrastructure. A separate contact water collection tank will also be provided to collect runoff from designated operational areas requiring separate management.

The stormwater management system has been designed to provide stormwater quantity and quality control prior to controlled discharge to the roadside municipal ditch along the southern property boundary and the existing outlet ditch located near the northwest corner of the Site. Contact water collected within designated operational areas will be managed separately from the stormwater management system and transported off-site by a licensed hauler for treatment or disposal at an approved facility.

The Ministry may impose effluent limits and/or monitoring requirements for stormwater discharges from the Site.
