Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for a Class 4 septic systems that service a multi-unit residential property located at 17 Fitz Avenue, in the Village of South River, Parry Sound District, Ontario.

The existing sewage works consist of two Class 4 septic systems (an east bed and a west chamber bed) that service a sixteen-unit apartment building with a theoretical design daily sewage flow of 14,900 litres per day.

Both sewage systems are pumped Class 4 leaching bed systems consisting of septic tanks for primary treatment, pump tanks for controlled dosing, and subsurface leaching beds for final effluent dispersal.

Both systems receive domestic-strength sewage only, originating from standard residential sources, including toilets, sinks, showers, and laundry facilities.

The east system utilizes stone and perforated pipe trenches, while the west system utilizes infiltrator chambers. It is proposed to install perforated pipe and gravel in the west bed to replace the existing chambers at the same total length.
