This proposal is for an Amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 5724-BYHM8Z by Pelee Acres Inc. located at 407 Essex Road 14, Municipality of Leamington, Ontario.
The expansion of an existing sewage works designed to treat domestic sewage generated by an agricultural employment population, which includes an expanded moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) wastewater treatment system with an increase in rated capacity from 65 m3/d to 130 m3/d, consisting of pre-treatment, flow equalization, primary treatment, secondary treatment, tertiary treatment and UV disinfection. The final effluent will continue to discharge to the Silver Creek Drain, within the Ruscom River Watershed.
Annual phosphorus loading in the final effluent will be restricted to the current approved loading.
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) will require monitoring of the treated wastewater effluent discharge leaving the site.
