Ingenia Polymers Corp. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 0738-B4XJGD for Ingenia Polymers Corp., a manufacturer of custom blended polymer plastic pellets and powders, located in the City of Brantford, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include extruders, grinders, dust collectors, natural gas ovens, and cooling towers.

The amendment includes the addition of six storage silos, a new dust collection system in the research and development lab, two new blowers, two new extruding lines, replacement of a natural gas oven, and an increase in the facility production limit.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• suspended particulate matter
• polyethylene
• acrolein
• propionaldehyde
• formaldehyde
• carbon black

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
