This proposal is for the renewal of the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6254-9LVQ3V for Imperial Oil Limited, operates an oil refinery that converts crude oil into a wide variety of petroleum products, including motor gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, aviation fuel and lubricating oils located in the City of Sarnia, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include laboratory fume hoods, material handeling, storage tanks, catalytic cracking, flares, and cooling towers.
Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:
- acrolein
- cobalt
- naphthalene
- vanadium
- toluene
- particulate matter
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
