This proposal is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) No. A-500-7188435332 for a waste transfer and processing facility located in the City of Brampton, Ontario.
The facility is approved for the processing and transfer of solid, non-hazardous industrial, commercial, institutional and municipal residential waste. The facility is seeking to temporarily store (park) collection trucks and trailers containing up to a total of 225 tonnes of untreated biomedical waste for up to 14 days prior to transfer for processing; to increase the maximum receiving rate from 999 tonnes per day to 1,224 tonnes per day; to add allowance to transfer a maximum of 225 tonnes of waste to secondary facilities for processing; and increase the storage capacity from 975 tonnes to 1,200 tonnes at any one time.
The site services the City of Toronto, Region of Halton and Peel, Dufferin County, Simcoe County and the Region of York and operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
