The province has finalized the Agricultural Impact Assessment Guidance Document. This document supports implementation of the Provincial Planning Statement (2024), which requires the completion of Agricultural Impact Assessments for certain non-agricultural uses in prime agricultural areas.  

This policy proposal invited the public to provide early input into the renewal of the 2012 Ontario Invasive Species Strategic Plan. We have considered all input received and are proceeding with public consultation on a draft Ontario Invasive Species Strategic Plan, 025-1334.

Permit to Take Water No. 1116-DGVNMU was issued to Impala Canada Ltd. on December 30, 2025. Water will be taken from an Underground Mine for dewatering purposes.

A renewal of Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) was granted to Bruce Power Inc, a nuclear power plant located near Tiverton, Ontario.

The facility production limit is 7,200 megawatts of electricity.

Brantam Excavating Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Municipality of Thames Centre. 

The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has made a decision not to issue an overall benefit permit to U. Lucchetta Construction Limited.

Lafarge Canada Inc. underwent a corporate name change in June 2025 to Amrize Canada Inc. Amrize Canada Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of Clearview. 

Approval was granted for a licence amendment to allow GIP Properties Corp. to temporarily increase the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed annually for Licence No. 5758, operating in the Township of North Glengarry, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties.

R.J. Selle and Son Sand and Gravel Ltd. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a quarry in the Municipality of Bonnechere Valley

Greenwood Paving Ltd. was issued a Class A licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan.  

We updated the Protocol of Accepted Drinking Water Testing Methods and Practices for the Collection and Handling of Drinking Water Samples documents to reflect advances in drinking water testing methods as well as current industry knowledge and practices for use by drinking water testing laboratories and system owners and operators.

Approval is granted for an amendment to the existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 9621-6RTNYW for the establishment of a three seasonal subsurface sewage disposal works, sewage works no. one, sewage works no. five and sewage works no. six located at 1109 Kendrick Creek Lane, Township of Minden Hills, Ontario.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) has been issued to Vale Canada Limited for emissions from a pyrometallurgical nickel-copper smelting facility, located in Copper Cliff, Ontario.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to Lafarge Canada Inc. to amend the current site plan to allow additional extraction to occur below the groundwater table. 

We issued an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval No. 4875-7F4N5K for Tomlinson Environmental Services Ltd., operating a composting facility located at 2069 Joyceville Road, Kingston, Ontario.

An amendment has been made to the renewable energy approval for the Grimsby Anaerobic Digestion Site located at 424 Sobye Road in Grimsby in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. The amendment will allow the facility to accept new waste types and increased waste tonnage, and to build new infrastructure on site.
