On August 4, 2021, we amended O. Reg. 509/18, made under the Electricity Act, 1998, to temporarily suspend a prohibition on standing pilot lights for gas fireplaces. This suspension will take effect for products manufactured from August 5, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
On October 28, 2024, an amendment to O.Reg. 509/18, made under the Electricity Act, 1998 was filed to harmonize the efficiency standards for 42 products through rolling incorporation by reference to Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) standards, and to revoke obsolete efficiency requirements for three products regulated under O.Reg. 509/18.
On April 6, 2021, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an Amending Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 261/21 which amends O.
