Why consultation isn't required
Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights Act, 1993 does not apply to proposal to make a Minister's Zoning Order (MZO) under subsection 47(1) of the Planning Act, or to amend or revoke an MZO under subsection 47(8) of the Planning Act.
Bulletin details
A Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act regulates the use of land and the erection, location and use of any building and structure on the land.
O. Reg. 475/20, made on August 28, 2020, permitted a 320-bed long-term care home on a portion of the lands. This Amending Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(8) of the Planning Act amends O. Reg. 475/20 to expand the lands to which the order applies. It also specifies zoning requirements related to minimum parking requirements and other parking and related setback requirements.
O. Reg. 261/21 applies to the lands municipally known as 580 Harwood Avenue South in the Town of Ajax. For illustrative purposes, the lands are shown in the map the link to which is set out below.
