We have granted approval to 1712833 Ontario Limited (operating as Metal Coaters), located in Mississauga, Ontario, to be registered under the Technical Standards Registry – AirPollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Metal Finishers – Industry Standard.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to 2506045 Ontario Inc. for the property located at 210-220 King Street North in the City of Waterloo, on November 7, 2023.

The Permit to Take Water No. 8664-D2DJK2 was issued to C. H. Demill Holdings Inc. on April 17, 2024, to renew the permit 4242-C2PM2T. Water will be taken from one pond for dewatering and industrial purposes at Long's Quarry, located in the Township of Tyendinaga, County of Hastings, Ontario.

We have granted approval to BBT Machining Inc., located in Sudbury, Ontario, to be registered under the Technical Standards Registry – Air Pollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Metal Finishers – Industry Standard.

We have finalized changes to thresholds for thermal treatment facilities that determine the environmental assessment requirements for advanced recycling. These thresholds have been incorporated in Ontario Regulation 101/07: Waste Management Projects made under the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA).

We are proposing a minor change to the transition regulation for the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The change would support implementation of a standard method to calculate the amount of land needed for development until 2041, known as a land needs assessment. This will help municipalities to ensure land is used efficiently.

We finalized the regulation that will make battery producers environmentally accountable and financially responsible for collecting and managing their products at end-of-life in February 2020. The regulation for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) was finalized in September 2020.

The Advance Exploration Closure Plan was filed by the Ministry for the West Cache Project.

Updates were made to the Off-Farm Anaerobic Digestion Materials Protocol under the Nutrient Management Act, 2002. These changes ensure consistent eligibility of organic waste materials from the production of ingredients used in food, animal feed, pet food, ethanol, and biodiesel production, irrespective of where the ingredients are produced. 

Changes were made to O. Reg. 232/18 - Inclusionary Zoning under the Planning Act to place a maximum 25-year period for which inclusionary zoning units must be maintained as affordable, and a 5% cap on the number or floor area of residential units that can be set aside as inclusionary zoning units. 

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit to The City of Richmond Hill to improve the Beaver Creek Stormwater Management Facility. This activity may adversely impact all four species at risk bats. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects.
