This decision extends (by notice under s. 36 of O. Reg. 419/05) the expiry date of a site-specific standard approval for benzo[a]pyrene for Stelco’s Hamilton Works integrated iron and steel facility in Hamilton until June 30, 2023.
The Minister of Energy has extended the completion deadline for projects contracted under the legacy Conservation First Framework by eight months, with a possibility of an additional four-month extension based on qualifying criteria, to offset delays caused by COVID-19. We are providing this update to ensure transparency regarding sector activity.
The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-20-000101 to Transition Metals Corporation for early exploration activities approximately 80 kilometres West by North West from the town of Temiskaming Shores, in Nicol township. The decision is to: Issue the permit.

An amendment has been made to the renewable energy approval for the Grimsby Anaerobic Digestion Site located at 424 Sobye Road in Grimsby in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. The amendment will allow the facility to accept new waste types and increased waste tonnage, and to build new infrastructure on site.
This proposal is for the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 8404-7YBLB2 for Robins Holdings Inc. and is for commercial purposes including water bottling. The new issued permit No. 0022-CL9PPA was issued on November 17, 2022, with an expiry date of November 17, 2032.
We amended the Renewable Energy Approval for the Nation Rise Wind Farm for minor project changes including the addition of a collection route within the already permitted project area, an additional access road to the central laydown area, and an additional disturbance area at one of the turbine locations.
We have approved the amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2369-AAYNTD with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air) for Colacem Canada Inc., a new cement plant located in the Township of Champlain, United Counties of Prescott and Russell. This approval is issued in conjunction with ECA (Sewage Works) #9996-B6YQK.
We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air) to American Iron & Metal Company Inc., a metal recycling facility.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought feedback on ideas to address the unique housing needs for rural and northern Ontario municipalities. MMAH incorporated this feedback into the development of a province-wide land use planning document. MMAH has issued the Provincial Planning Statement, taking effect on October 20, 2024.
