The government amended the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA) to strengthen provincial leadership and coordination in emergency management, enhance community capacity, and formally outline Ontario Corps as a key function in supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts across the province.
We have made minor amendments to the Environmental Compliance Approval in respect of Sewage Works Regulation (O. Reg. 208/19). The amendments allow prescribed persons to make future alterations to municipal sanitary collection and stormwater works without requiring a separate approval if certain conditions are met.
An amended Environmental Compliance Approval (air) with Limited Operational Flexibility has been issued to Kirkland Lake Gold (formerly Detour Gold Corporation) for their Detour Lake Project.

The government brought into force a regulation under the Planning Act that authorizes landowners to stipulate that pay-on-demand surety bonds are to be used to secure municipal obligations that are conditions of land-use planning approvals.
