The ministry issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (wastewater) serving 7137796 Canada Inc., located at 2020 Bantree Road, Ontario, serving the proposed Benson Auto Parts Wearhouse facility and will consist of stormwater management works, and storm and sanitary sewers.
On February 6, 2023, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing posted to the Environmental Registry a proposal for a new Minister’s regulation under the Planning Act that would require 29 municipalities in Ontario to report data on planning matters on a quarterly and annual basis. The Ministry decided to proceed with the Minister’s regulation.
We have changed the boundaries of Stoco Fen Provincial Park to add about 150 hectares of land. The new area includes three parcels of land donated by Quinte Conservation and two small parcels of unopened road allowance. Increasing the size of the park will help protect this provincially significant wetland.

The ministry sought feedback on any planning matters that should be addressed through a transition regulation, under the Planning Act for the Provincial Planning Statement (PPS 2024). The Minister reviewed the feedback and decided no matters required transition for PPS 2024 and will not be prescribing any matters by regulation.
As of January 18, 2022, the government implemented the off-peak Time-of-Use (TOU) electricity rate of 8.2 cents / kilowatt hour for all periods of the day for Regulated Price Plan (RPP) customers in response to COVID-19. The government intends for this to be in place for a 21-day period.
