We amended regulations under the Mining Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Environmental Bill of Rights that came into force on April 1, 2021. The amended regulations include updating section references to align with the legislative amendments to the Mining Act, which received Royal Assent on December 10, 2019, under Bill 132.

We issued a Minister’s Directive to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) requiring them to implement a 12-year electricity conservation and demand-side management (eDSM) Framework starting January 1, 2025, which includes a budget of up to $10.9 billion for the IESO to deliver a portfolio of electricity energy efficiency (EE) programs.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. P-300-5206242253 on August 4, 2023 to Meaford Golf Course Inc in Meaford, Ontario, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 6322-98RNLD. Water will be taken from one pond and one watercourse for golf course irrigation. The new permit expires on October 1, 2033.

On April 1, 2024, O. Reg. 240/00 Advanced Exploration, Mine Development and Closure Under Part VII of the Act will be replaced with a new regulation, O Reg. 35/24, titled "Rehabilitation of Lands." This new regulation retains most of the provisions of O. Reg. 240/00, integrating amendments and aligning with the Building More Mines Act, 2023. 

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-5229047655, which cancels and replaces Permit No. 2341-BM8KPD, for Karson Holdings Inc. Water will be taken for aggregate washing and aggregate extraction purposes at the McGee Pit, located in Carp, Ontario.

The new permit will expire on December 1, 2033.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 7141-BZFN2N on April 7, 2021, which cancels and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 0042-AZ7NVH, for 2135097 Ontario Inc., located in the Town of Renfrew, County of Renfrew, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of April 1, 2031.

The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to Walker BESS 4 Inc. for the establisment of stormwater management works and spill containment works servicing the proposed Almonte BESS 1 and Almonte BESS 2 lithium-ion battery storage facilities on a site located at 6299 County Road 29, in the Township of Mississippi Mills.

On July 12, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 298/24 in the Town of Newmarket. The Town of Newmarket requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order to accelerate dev

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on August 16, 2024 in respect of Application 58-C-231862 for one (1) new lot on lands described as PINs 62315-0041 and 62315-0042 on Shebandowan Lake, District of Thunder Bay. The last day this decision can be appealed is September 5, 2024.

This was a proposal to renew a Permit to Take Water for 975009 Ontario Limited, operating as The Willow's Golf & Country Club, for water taking for commercial purposes. Permit No. 1546-CV5PT5 was issued, with an expiry of October 1, 2028. Water will be taken from two wells and one pond for golf course irrigation.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. 6322-CRQQEE on May 12, 2023 for Parkland Terminals of Canada Inc. in the City of Hamilton, Ontario for industrial purposes. The new permit expires on May 1, 2033. Water will be taken from Lake Ontario to allow the company to undertake hydrostatic testing of storage tanks.

A decision was made on April 14 2026, to approve, with modifications, a new Official Plan of the Geographic townships of Gorham, Ware and the Dawson Road Lots (Lots 1-20), Concession A and B, east of the Kaministiquia River to achieve consistency with provincial policies, and to manage and direct physical (land use) change within the planning area.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on February 28, 2023, in respect of Application 52-C-226398 for a lot addition in Cochrane unincorporated township, District of Sudbury.

The variance is approved

An amendment to the Niagara Escarpment Plan as been approved to reduce the number of permitted units from eight to five on a draft plan of condominium for the property located in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, County of Grey.

The ministry has issued an amendment Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) to Ontario Power Generation Inc. for industrial stormwater management works serving the proposed ongoing development of the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) site located at the Ontario Power Generation Darlington site, at Holt Road, in Darlington.

Permit to Take Water No. 4425-BBXPSA was issued, which cancels and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 8580-7T2QVG. The permit was issued on July 10, 2019 with an expiry date of May 6, 2029.

Permit to Take Water No. 7835-DFRH6H was issued to Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club Ltd. on July 4, 2025. Water will be taken from three ponds and one watercourse for golf course irrigation purposes, located in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 4617-D8S4M6 was issued to renewal to G. Tackaberry & Sons Construction Company Limited to renew Permit to Take Water No. 1683-9LUGLB. Water will be taken from one pond for construction, dewatering, and aggregate washing purposes at the Perth Quarry, located in the Township of Drummond-North Elmsley, Ontario.

On September 20, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 367/24 in the Town of Ajax. The Town of Ajax requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.
