The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000322 to Stone Gold Incorporated for early exploration activities within Nicolet and Norberg Townships.

The decision is to issue the permit.

The application for an amended Environmental Compliance Approval for Detour Gold Corporation has been withdrawn, at the request of the proponent. No amended ECA was issued.

Approval was granted to Stefan Szeder to establish and operate a wood fibre by-product facility on the site of the former Barwick Peat Plant near Barwick, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 5228-D78UYP was issued to Camp Tamarack Ltd. on July 19, 2024, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 8000-9GGRLD for campground water supply purposes. Water will be taken from three wells in the Town of Bracebridge, District Municipality of Muskoka, Ontario for 10 years.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025, to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 45, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. The amendment modifies Site-Specific Policy 15.D.12.40 to permit a maximum height of 24 storeys on lands designated 'Mixed Use' at the southwest corner of Huron Road and Strasburg Road.

Arbour Farms Limited were issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of Mulmer.

A decision was made on September 5, 2025, to approve the City of Cambridge Official Plan Amendment 87, as adopted by By-law 24-123. The Official Plan Amendment 87 proposes to add a site-specific policy to permit a maximum density of 61 units per hectare for the lands municipally known as 36 Elliott Street.

KG Patterson Construction Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Geographic Township of Osgoode, City of Ottawa.

An approval was issued to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4467-8UZHR9 for the renewal of the Limited Operational Flexibility conditions for FNX Mining Company Inc., a copper/nickel mining operation located in Sudbury, Ontario.

A decision was made on October 22, 2025 to approve, with modifications, the Town of Caledon Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-014.  The approved Caledon Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development to 2051. 

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-24-000057 to Frontline Gold Corporation for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-20-000217 to VR Resources Limited for early exploration activities approximately 120 kilometres north west of Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, in Hecla and Kilmer Townships, District of Cochrane, North East Region.

The decision is to: Issue the permit.

A Permit to Take Water No. 5782-CPVJRK was issued to GIP Properties Corp on March 24, 2023 to renew Permit No. 4663-B2YGNE for 10 years. Water will be taken from one well for dewatering, aggregate washing, construction and manufacturing purposes at the Brockville Quarry, in the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley, Ontario.

We have changed when facilities have to review their toxic reduction plans. This will help to align the first two plan reviews with federal timelines and ensure facilities plan and report on current and relevant toxic substances. We also made a new regulation to provide more options to serve documents making it consistent with other regulations.
