Following review of stakeholder submissions and other developments following the Ministry’s Green Button regulatory proposal in 2017-18, the Ministry decided not to proceed with the regulation as proposed. The Ministry is now considering options to make energy data available to consumers.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing gave provisional consent to Application number 54-C-226012 in respect to land in Cane Unincorporated Township on October 04, 2023, subject to conditions. The last day this decision can be appealed is October 24, 2023.

The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has issued an overall benefit permit to the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority for construction activities that will impact Redside Dace. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects and benefit the species, as well as monitoring and reporting requirements.

Antonissen Trucking Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of Malahide.

We have approved the minor amendment to the area-specific Crown land use policies for the Lac Seul General Use Area (G2518) and Red Lake General Use Area (G2514) to allow the potential sale of Crown land for the purposes of cottage lot development within the Township boundaries of the Township of Ear Falls.

Certificate of Property Use No. 1472-DKXFCA for 130 Elizabeth Street, Toronto, Ontario, was issued to owners as part of their development plans for the site.

A renewal of an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) was issued to IMT Nitrex GP Inc., as general partner for and on behalf of IHT Limited Partnership, a heat treating facility located in Port Robinson, Ontario.

The Facility Production Limit is up to 106,715 tonnes of steel per year.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued on September 25, 2023 to 25 Langstaff Rd. East Developments Inc. for the intended residential, parkland and community use of the property located at 5, 9, 11 and 25 Langstaff Road East and 10, 20, 24, and 26 Ruggles Avenue, Markham, Ontario.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000116 to Camking Exploration and Resources Limited for early exploration activities approximately 3 kilometres north west of Matachewan, Ontario, in Powell township, District of Timiskaming, Northeast Region.

Aaroc Aggregates Ltd. underwent a corporate name change in March 2024 to J-AAR Materials Limited. J-AAR Materials Limited was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of Zorra.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to Charles Place Holdings Inc. for the intended mixed use of the property located at 669 Charles Street East, 63 & 69 Sydney Street South and 48 Preston Street in the City of Kitchener.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2698-C7BQS7 was granted for a private sewage treatment works to serve the proposed warehouse facility, located at 11884 Highway 4 (Sunset Drive), in the Township of Southwold, Ontario.

Certificate of Property Use No. 5013-DN4KFA for 4610 Finch Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, was issued to City of Toronto as part of their development plans for the site.

The ministry is moving forward with amending regulations made under the Environmental Protection Act and the Ontario Water Resources Act to streamline permissions for certain low risk short-term water taking activities. These amendments align approval requirements with the activity’s level of risk, while maintaining environmental oversight.

We have issued Certificate of Property Use No. 2343-4GHFKL, for 19 Western Battery Road, to Liberty Residences Inc. as part of their development plans for the site.

A decision to approve all of Official Plan Amendment No. 8 to the Official Plan of the Geraldton and Suburban Planning Area, as adopted by Municipal By-law 19-39, was made with one modification on March 19, 2020. A modification was made to ensure that all uses related to the mine development will be compatible with sensitive land uses in the area.
