The Minister has updated mapping for the Downtown Barrie Urban Growth Centre contained in the 2008 policy document “Size and Location of Urban Growth Centres in the Greater Golden Horseshoe.” This notice is related to ERO#019-5530.
The ministry is not proceeding with the proposed Land Use Compatibility Guideline as a result of feedback received through the Environmental Registry. The current D-Series guidelines for land use compatibility will remain in effect. Any potential future updates to land use compatibility guidance would be posted as a new proposal on the Registry.
A new regulation and regulation changes under the Planning Act were filed on August 29, 2019 and came into force on September 3, 2019. The changes are needed to facilitate implementation of the changes to the Planning Act made by Schedule 12 of the More Homes, More Choice Act, 2019.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing sought feedback on an approach to update the Projection Methodology Guideline to reflect the land use planning policies in 2021. MMAH sought feedback on a proposal to revoke the Parkway Belt West Plan.
