The Minister has issued an amendment to an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to 2434233 Ontario Ltd. to authorize impacts to Willowleaf Aster individuals and to update mitigation and overall benefit requirements concerning Willowleaf Aster, Butler’s Gartersnake and Eastern Foxsnake.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought feedback on ideas to address the unique housing needs for rural and northern Ontario municipalities. MMAH incorporated this feedback into the development of a province-wide land use planning document. MMAH has issued the Provincial Planning Statement, taking effect on October 20, 2024.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000367 to Fortune Nickel and Gold Incorporated for early exploration activities in Beck, Nesbitt, Lennox and Ottaway townships, approximately 50 kilometers west of the Town of Cochrane.

On January 21, 2026, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing made a Minister's Zoning Order in the City of Toronto as Zoning Order 001-2026

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit to Trinity Woods Inc. for residential development which will impact Eastern Foxsnake (Carolinian population) and Willowleaf Aster, both species at risk. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring and reporting requirements.

Certificate of Property Use No. 2450-C9HHTG for 396N Queens Quay West, Toronto, was issued to Coal Harbour Properties Ltd. as part of their development plans for the site.

On August 16, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 327/24 in the City of Vaughan. The City of Vaughan requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on May 9, 2023, in respect of Application 60-C-225795 for a lot addition on lands described as PINs 42034-0566, 42034-0559, and 42034-1482, Unsurveyed Territory, Thaddeus Lake, District of Kenora. The last day this decision can be appealed is May 29, 2023.

Certificate of Property Use (CPU) No. 1157-BVPPKU for 640 Lansdowne Avenue, Toronto was issued to Toronto Transit Commission as part of their development plans for the site.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) 19-OWE-11217 for Taylor A. Greisbrecht was issued on May 3, 2019 for a hauled sewage site in Ashfield, Ontario

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, consent was granted on June 18, 2019 for application 52-C-180416. The Donovans in Gogama, Noble Township, District of Sudbury applied to separate PINs 73143-0251, -0266, and -0035 from the PINs 73143-0264 and -0253 after the lots merged on title. The last day this decision can be appealed is July 8, 2019.

Certificate of Property Use (CPU) No. 2577-BQNPLR for 3445 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto was issued to Sheppard Garden Inc. as part of their development plans for the property.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to Arriscraft Canada Inc. for the property located at 805 Speedsville Road, Cambridge, on January 4, 2023.

We have introduced legislative and regulatory changes to enable the IESO to launch a clean energy credit (CEC) registry to track the transfer and retirement of voluntarily purchased CECs generated from Ontario’s clean electricity supply. The CEC registry will provide businesses with a new tool to meet their corporate sustainability goals.  

The Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines issued a Minister’s Directive (approved by Order in Council No. 1351/2020, September 30, 2020), to the Independent Electricity System Operator requiring them to design, deliver and/or fund an electricity Conservation and Demand Management Framework between January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2024.

On March 6, 2024, a Certificate of Property Use No. 1143-CXDR4S was issued to the owners, Eleanor Coinvest GP Inc. and its registered and beneficial partners, of the property located at 11884 Sunset Road, Southwold, Ontario, as part of their continued use of the site.
