The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry have amended Ontario Regulation 826 under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act to add the Pleasant View Survey lands to the area of development control.
Ontario is proposing to expand Charleston Lake Provincial Park (adventure class park) by adding Crown lands directly east of the park under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserve Act, 2006 (PPCRA). Adding these lands to the park would support ecological protection while allowing current, sustainable uses to continue.
The minister has approved amendments to the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Plan and Lake Simcoe Assessment Report which include updates to the Sunderland and Cannington drinking water system vulnerable areas within the Municipality of Durham to add 3 municipal drinking water wells and remove the mapping for 2 decommissioned wells.

On January 26, 2022, we amended the Species at Risk in Ontario List to reflect new species at risk classifications set out in the 2019-2020 Annual Report of the Committee on the Status of Species at Risk in Ontario. This is required by the Endangered Species Act, 2007.
