In support of Ontario’s Housing Supply Action Plan 3.0 and the government’s commitment to support the construction of 1.5 million new housing units over the next ten years, the province is seeking feedback on the discussion paper entitled Conserving Ontario’s Natural Heritage.
We amended the Renewable Energy Approval for the Pendleton Solar Energy Centre, 830 County Road 19 in Curran, Ontario, to remove the reference in the approval to the main power transformer at the substation as the transformer is no longer required as part of the facility operations.
We are improving the processes associated with land claim settlement and other agreements with Indigenous communities about land by removing duplication between the Environmental Assessment Act requirements and the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs’ current policies and guidelines.

A decision was made to move ahead with regulatory changes under the Conservation Authorities Act to make associated regulatory changes to support streamlined, timely and consistent conservation authority permitting decisions and ensure permit decisions are focused on natural hazard considerations.
Government response statements have been finalized outlining actions to lead and support the protection and recovery of nine species at risk in Ontario: Blanding’s Turtle, Eastern Whip-poor-will, Northern Bobwhite, Spiny Softshell, Spotted Turtle, Little Brown Myotis, Northern Myotis, Tri-colored Bat, and White Wood Aster.
