We reviewed responses received and have implemented our regulation proposals to amend the Mine Development and Closure Regulation, and the Mining Claims Regulation and revoke the Conversion of Legacy Claims Regulation.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water for 4569 Kingston Road GP (2020) Inc., as general partner for and on behalf of 4569 Kingston Road Limited Partnership. Water will be taken from one well for dewatering purposes serving a proposed development, located in Scarborough, Ontario.

We are proceeding with public consultation on a regulatory proposal for the 13 invasive species and watercraft as a carrier of invasive species under the Invasive Species Act, 2015, included in this posting.

A Director’s Order was issued to Carillion Canada Inc., Gerald Anthony DiRocco, Hamilton Beach Brands Canada, Inc., and 2441577 Ontario Inc. with respect to the property located at 10 McFarland Drive, Picton.

The minister has issued a social or economic benefit permit to NextStar Energy Inc. and the Corporation of the City of Windsor for impacts to Butler’s Gartersnake, a species at risk. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects on the species and its habitat and actions to support the protection and recovery of the species.

We have decided to renew mining lease number 107377, used for the underground salt mine operations of the Goderich Salt Mine below Lake Huron. The lessee has met the conditions for renewal, and the lease has been issued substantially on the terms and conditions set out in the consultation draft that was posted.

A new approval is recommended.

On March 6, 2024, the ministry issued a Director’s Order Number 1-228916698 which revokes and replaces Director’s Order GE-PTBO-DO001FA.

This decision is an amendment to Permit To Take Water No. 3228-AWLPL5 for quarry dewatering purposes. This amendment was to increase the number of days of water taking per year. Water will be taken from one (1) pond. Permit to Take Water Number 8734-BYBL3T has been issued on March 9, 2021 and expires on March 9, 2031.

The application for this new Permit to Take Water for Clifton Blake Bridge Fund V LP was withdrawn by the applicant on April 29, 2024.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. P-300-6221409356 on September 25, 2023 for CLARIDGE HOMES (GEORGE ST) LIMITED PARTNERSHIP in the City of Ottawa, Ontario for construction dewatering purposes. The new permit expires on September 25, 2028.

We have adopted a new Technical Standard for mining sites to address air emissions and help protect communities who live close to these industrial sources. This is a sector-based compliance approach under the local air quality regulation.

The ministry has proceeded with issuance of the Certificate of Property Use (CPU) related to the property in Thunder Bay. The CPU specifies the risk management measures required for any future proposed development of the property. At this time, the current property owner is not proposing any development or a change in property use.

A new Permit to Take Water Ref No. 8876-CSRH5G was issued to MPCT DIF DAM LEBRETON GP INC., as general partner for and on behalf of MPCT DIF DAM LEBRETON LP, on June 15, 2023 for three years. Water will be taken from a pond for construction dewatering purposes.

We have created Monarch Point Conservation Reserve in Prince Edward County to provide greater protection to the area. The conservation reserve was created through regulation under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006.
