Ontario is implementing a temporary suspension of certain provisions in the Excess Soil Regulation that came into effect January 1, 2022, until January 1, 2023. The pause will provide more time to understand the provisions and refine their implementation.

We are proceeding with public consultation on a regulatory proposal for the 13 invasive species and watercraft as a carrier of invasive species under the Invasive Species Act, 2015, included in this posting.
The Minister has issued three permits under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to Metrolinx for three priority transit projects that will help improve public transit in the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. The permits include conditions that require minimizing adverse impacts on species at risk, surveying, monitoring and reporting.
