OMAFRA has made a new Minister’s Regulation under the Drainage Act. This will implement the amendments to the Drainage Act that were included in Schedule 4 of the COVID Economic Recovery Act, 2020. It will address stakeholder concerns and reduce burden while maintaining environmental protections.

We issued an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility No. 5217-BPXK2E to Pure Gold Mining Inc., located in the Municipality of Red Lake, District of Kenora, Ontario. This facility is involved in gold mining and milling.

The Ministry of Transportation is soliciting public comment on proposed legislative and regulatory changes aimed at enhancing road safety that would, if passed, protect lives, reduce injuries, and improve the quality of life for Ontarians. Environmental impacts are related to the proposal to create regulation making authority to redefine e-bikes.
We will be establishing a public registry for licences of occupation under the Mining Act. The public will be able to easily access this new registry through the Mining Lands Administration System (MLAS).
