Please see the attached comments from the Town of New Tecumseth:

-Fear the new PPS will encourage urban sprawl and rapid housing through the loss of the MCR process, approved built boundaries, relaxed rural settlement are development and Settlement Area Boundary Expansion requests;

-Will place a huge strain on municipal resources such as servicing costs and infrastructure planning;

-Reduced environmental sustainability;

-Loss of Agricultural System mapping and further implementation guidance;

-Loss of Natural Heritage System mapping and further implementation guidance;

-Weakened Settlement Area Boundary expansion policies will result in loss of farmland;

-Loss of protection for employment lands;

-Lack of definitions for added terms;

-Concerns over MZOs being considered additional to projected needs over established planning horizon.
