Tag allocation and available moose needs to take into account traditional harvesting from Metis and indigenous people. None of these groups have any way, shape, or form of regulating and check-in to maintain a healthy moose population. Traditional harvesting should be done with only traditional methods (bow) and any Metis or indigenous persons hunting gun/rifle, applying for a tag. The help we need to maintain and care for moose populations need to be done with mnr resources and indigenous knowledge working together. If harvesting is done without any accountability, how can a points system work for those not born into the right ethnic group?
