There needs to be language and enforcement of maintaining and due diligence of the batteries and blast furnace maintenance and upkeep to mitigate the effects of what our city particularly in the west end are being exposed to.
It’s going to be a long time before the eaf actually takes over and the blast furnace is eliminated.
Also the side effects of an eaf furnace will be different and compounded on top of the current and escalating emissions by Alhima Steel and jobs are being phased out to the people that actually have experience and knowledge of how to mitigate and maintain the old practice and technology.
I hope these things are considered before the latter marks the people of Sault Ste Marie
