There needs to be language and enforcement of maintaining and due diligence of the batteries and blast furnace maintenance and upkeep to mitigate the effects of what our city particularly in the west end are being exposed to. Read more

As a new resident of Sault Ste. Marie, I have noticed that compared with other cities I have lived in in Canada and abroad, that the chemicals expelled by the Algoma Steel mill are noticeable both visually and in an olfactory way. Read more

Thanks for taking my comment. The plumes of 24hour black smoke and particulates clouds are the worst I've ever seen in my 50 years living in the Sault. My worries include no change in pollution even with an EAF in operation. Read more

I live across the river in Sault Ste Marie Michigan. I always know when the wind is blowing out of the Northwest because I can smell the emissions from the Algoma Steel Plant. Often these emissions cause me to be congested and require allergy medication for temporary relief. Read more

I live on Fort Creek Drive and sometimes in the middle of the night I can hear loud noises from the plant. I can only speculate what they are but at times it sounds like heavy objects being dropped. My house at times shakes from this. Read more
