Ontario must reject Bill 4.

I am greatly distressed and in disbelief that the Doug Ford government is planning to cancel Cap and Trade. For how long can Canadians practice wilful blindness? Ontario has been a leader in protecting the habitat of homo sapiens sapiens, not just in Canada, but in North America. I could be proud and hopeful as an Ontarian. Cancellation of Cap and Trade not only gives a free pass to pollution, it will result in increasing health costs for both physical and mental illness. Certainly, I am very stressed by the changes we see in our climate, in injury, in destruction due to climate change. More and more of our resources will be not to advance, but to repair the dike against the onslaught of climate change. Our society and economy will not advance. They will stagnate and then whither away.

Cap and trade brings in funds to do GOOD THINGS like repair and upgrade roads and schools. For example, because of climate change, schools and seniors' residences now need air conditioning. Cap and trade reduces pollution and the effects of climate change while providing funds needed to refit these public places. Now Mr. Ford has cancelled projects that would have improved the lives of Ontarians because there will be no funds if Bill 4 goes through.

This Bill 4 will move us from a Win-Win situation, to a Lose-Lose situation.

Reject Bill 4! Keep our only climate change law.

With Cap and Trade, Ontarians can hold their heads high as responsible adult citizens of the world. Doug Ford's Bill 4 makes us into selfish, short-sighted and irresponsible teenagers. We, and even moreso, our children, will pay the environmental price for this selfishness and short-sightedness. We will have to hang our heads in SHAME...
