I have a 12 year old daughter and am gravely concerned for her future that we start to take action on climate change. Cancelling a program that was already generating millions of dollars that were mandated to be used to reduce our carbon emissions in Ontario is not a positive step. The Cap & Trade program was being paid for by the polluters and the polluting industries were onside with and understood the need to reduce our carbon emissions and the program gave the offending industries time to adjust. If a federal carbon tax is imposed on Ontario as an example, the cement industry may be driven out of the province as they were in B.C. when they imposed their carbon tax.
