"Science is our way of trying not to fool ourselves." (Quote from Richard Feynman)
My point here is that Science is NOT a matter of opinion. Also: "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." This is also a quote from the aforementioned. I'm trying to emphasize that denying the role of human activity in altering the climate is a mistake. Humans are increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and if we continue on this path, the results will be truly terrifying. Already, the climate where I live has changed radically in the last forty years. We now have tornadoes: this would have been beyond belief when I was a child.
The existing legislation, the so-called "Cap & Trade" law, should be retained. This law recognizes reality. Cap & Trade can provide an enormous net economic BENEFIT. It is not a liability. Repealing the law will, however, be devastating to our economy in the short term, and to our civilization in the long term.
