I'm a citizen and voter who is angry about the cancellation of the cap and trade program. The Government of Ontario is responsible for the long-term well being of its citizens, and climate change threatens our safety. Carbon pricing means we pay a little more now to prevent the billions of dollars in climate change-fueled storms that we will incur as taxpayers and homeowners in the future. Climate change is the greatest threat to humanity, and catastrophic effects will occur by as soon as 2040. We must set aggressive emission reduction targets and create a plan to meet them. Our future must be carbon neutral, and we must start working towards that now, not later - there is no time to waste.
