Bill 4 is totally unacceptable. It eliminates the only plan that Ontario has to address the urgency of the climate crisis. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports that we are dangerously close to crossing the catastrophic 1.5C tipping point that would lead to runaway climate change. There must be another plan in place that will do at least as much as cap and trade would do to fight climate change, before cancelling that plan. Bill 4 represents ignorance of the future of humanity and uncaring greed. Even some of the huge corporations are now realizing that there are long term benefits for them reachable by paying extra money now to cut back on pollution. Exon investers have approved of such a plan. Climate change is causing increasingly severe wildfires, flooding and storms and we have too little time to turn that around to be wasting time and money on political games.
