I am deeply concerned with the proposal to cancel cap and trade especially in light of the recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that stresses that putting a price on carbon dioxide emissions is central for getting global warming under control. It would seem very prudent and rational for Ontario to consider all aspects of this most recent report before following thru with canceling a program that has provided schools, hospitals, homeowners and other facilities with the means to reduce their carbon emissions. At the very least I would think that it would be prudent to have another system in place to reduce carbon emissions before cancelling cap and trade. We have know since the 1970's that global warming has the potential to inflict enormous economic and social damage on human society. There needs to be a monumental push on the part of all of us to find ways to reduce carbon emissions. I would hope that this would be taken under consideration before any legislation is passed.
