Please do not repeal of the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 without a climate change plan replacement. We cannot afford to ignore climate change - we must act. I am a young adult and our future health and economy is at stake. Climate change will cost us more and more money.
I am a young professional who is trying to thrive in a tight housing market and it is not easy. However, I would rather invest in what is right and protecting our environment by various measures then have the burden of the consequences after it is too late. The clean economy is booming and investment can turn into economic health.
I am asking for:
* A real climate change plan to reduce emissions, to help people save money by saving energy and to create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.
* Adoption of a price on carbon pollution through a fee-and-dividend plan, which would charge polluters and return the money to the pockets of Ontarians.
* Legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement.
* The redirection of fossil fuel subsidies into clean energy solutions.
