I strongly oppose the dismantling of Ontario's cap and trade system.

Minimizing climate change is a high priority for me as a citizen. It's a priority I'm willing to pay for, and it is definitely a priority I will vote on.

Dismantling Ontario's cap and trade system will be wasteful and inefficient. Carbon pricing is by far the most efficient way to reduce GHGs (it's definitely not "coming down hard on polluters") (see link). There is also the cost of reimbursing those who hold emissions allowances, and Ontario's potential liability if the California Air Resources Board takes us to court over pulling out of the Western Climate Initiative. I support the programs that are funded under Ontario's cap and trade system, and do not want to see them disappear.

Please do not dismantle this program.
