In lieu of the latest UN Report from the IPCC on climate change I cannot begin to fathom any motivation beyond greed that would lead our government cancel cap and trade.
This is a step backwards that will certainly worsen the problem that the UN report clearly outlines as irreversible if immediate action is not taken to reduce green house has emissions in the next 12 years
In addition to this being a step backwards, the cancelation of cap and trade is proof that our current provincial leadership is not up to the challenge of working in the best long-term interests of this those it represents. It is furthermore belittling to the human spirit to witness a government fail to remember environmental catastrophes we have averted (acid rain, the hole in the ozone layer, etc.) and work against those who can best help solve the issue by stiffling innovation in policy, technology, and science, with respect to environmental issues.
As a young adult who one day hopes to have a family, this bill single handedly demonstrates that this government is unfit to lead and is clearly more interested in meager short term financial gains, than it is in the health, and prosperity of its citizens.
