The Ford government needs to stop proceedings with Bill 4. It is a disastrous environmental policy and a regressive step for Ontario.

Ontario needs a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.

Ontario needs to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint.

Ontario needs legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement.

Ontario should be 100% powered by renewable energy including water power from Quebec.

And above all else; Ontario needs to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.

I live in a district that has traditionally been a conservative strong hold, however in the last election it came down to a tight race between a former conservative MP and a political novice from the NDP. I voted to stop Mr. Ford's election in July, but between the repeal of the sex-ed curriculum and the his even considering the actions of Bill 4, I will be out volunteering for the party with the best chance of defeating the MPP in my riding next election.

Bill 4 is a disgrace!
