Scrapping the Cap and Trade program is a grievous error, particularly in light of the recent IPCC report which paints a daunting picture of our imminent environmental future. Repealing the act without having an alternate climate change plan that contains ambitious, measurable policies to ensure a reduction in carbon emissions from a variety of industries indicates that this government is giving up on not only its constituents but the entire global population, placing industry's desire to generate capital over individuals' desire for sustaining life on this planet. I urge you to remain on track with the 2016 Act, or, better yet, to create increasingly strict caps on carbon emissions as we work together to save ourselves from extinction by our own hands.
