To repeal a price on carbon…

To repeal a price on carbon is horribly short sighted. Canada is better than that.

Ontario has the chance to design an economic system to is Ontario built. You are missing the opportunity to make a fair, compassionate transition where struggling families are protected and rewarded for transitioning. You are hitching is to a terrible future.

Repealing Cap and Trade is the wrong thing to do.

Whether we are talking about climate scientists or economists who specialize in decarbonization, I am willing to accept their expertise.

I don’t argue settled science. And I’m not gonna argue economic policy on which the world’s best economists agree.

Put a price on pollution and raise it steadily so we have the opportunity to change our behaviour. Return the money to us citizens to protect us from the disruptions we are seeking to avoid.

Give back the money in equal amounts to all citizens so the poor aren’t left holding the bag. Keep it simple.

Make carbon so expensive that the alternatives become much more appealing. It’s pretty simple.
