Abandoning Ontario's leadership role and plan to address climate change through cap and trade is dangerous and wrong. This bill represents an economic, social, and moral failure by the government that demonstrates to Ontarians that our futures are not worth protecting and to business that our province is short-sighted and will not be able to offer long-term prospects for growth in the energy industries of the future. Getting rid of cap and trade without an effective replacement program is either rooted in deep ignorance and denial of our best science or a cynical attempt to make a fast buck for rich entrenched interests at the expense of the long-term prosperity and health of ordinary Ontarians.
