Extending the current moratorium on water bottling permits is a good first step. During the moratorium time, it will be important to do the following:
* introduce a ban on single-use plastics, especially water bottles
* thoroughly assess Ontario's water resources needed for municipal uses first
* eliminate unnecessary threats to water quality such as additional pits and quarries
* block the application of untreated sewage onto farm fields where it can infiltrate water supplies
* ban all proposed dumps which could enter a water table
* hike the fees for water extraction massively in order to encourage enterprises requiring them to conserve water and to pay their fair share for resources
* prioritize household and agricultural water use over bottling and/or wasteful industry
