9 years ago I had a new well drilled on my property that ended up being an artesian well producing about 100 gallons per minute. I decided to use this natural flow of water from the aquifer to support an open look geothermal heating system. As a result on some residential development, a 2000 GPM gold course irrigation pump, and increased water bottling extraction this artesain well is now only producing a few gallons per minute. As such, I need to replace a mechanically functioning geothermal system with another heating/cooling solution that could cost me $10K or more. This cost is fully a function of uncontrolled water extraction by bottlers and golf courses.
No one should have to pay for this out of their own pocket when the bottlers and golf courses pay little or nothing for their rampant use and abuse of a public resource.
