I support the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks' proposal to extend the moratorium on new or increasing permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water.
Groundwater in the area of the Grand River watershed is a limited resource and the only source of drinking water for the communities which rely on it. This water is virtually being stolen by a huge company and sold to people who have been scared into believing that it's the only safe water to drink. This is disgraceful and the governments who share the responsibility for stewardship of this water should take strong action to dispel the myth and stop this greedy company from profiting by it.
