Mr. Zeliko Romic,

I am vehemently opposed to the decisions made by the PC party related to the large number of environmentally sound projects which were cancelled so capriciously when the party came into power. In particular The White Pines Wind Project Termination Act of July 25, 2018 was a dark day for the future of a healthier Ontario.

I have followed this project over the last number of years and happily watched it come to fruition during visits to the County where I have property, friends and family. Unlike what the PC representative for PEC would like people to believe I happen to know there has been a great deal of support on the part of long term local inhabitants to having this project come to fruition.

To have a project of this magnitude that was so close to completion be cancelled is an atrocity. Climate change is recognized globally as the defining issue of our time. The actions of the PC Party of Ontario under the current Premier betray a blindness to this fact, particularly when compared to the creative approaches being taken by other countries, including those with the strongest economies of Europe. Were this not the case, what still remains is the choice of this government to renege on a commitment in which the other party has entered in good faith, followed all regulatory steps and invested vast sums of money, time and expertise. This from a government that publicly claims it knows how to do business, to say nothing of the flippant disregard it shows for the rule of law upon which democracy rests.

For those of us who must watch, who have children and grandchildren who will live with the results of our actions, the hope is that we see farsighted leadership, not steps backwards to a place the rest of the world is leaving behind, simply for short term political gain.

I do not support ERO-013-3835 re Dismantling of White Pines and hope that this feedback along with that of other like minded Ontario residents will be taken into account.

Respectfully
