Building HWY 413 is an irresponsible use of taxpayers dollars and does not provide the value that the current Ontario Government is proposing. Much cheaper alternatives to traffic congestion include moving trucks to the 407. Other key concerns are:
- HWY 413 won't save commuters time: It will save regional drivers only 30-60s per commute
- It's expensive: Hwy 413 will cost $10 BILLION dollars and not improve commuting experience
- Exacerbate Food Insecurity: HWY 413 will pave over 400 acres of Greenbelt and over 2,000 acres of Ontario's most productive farmland
- Biodiversity loss: Harm Twenty-nine federally identified species at risk live in this area
- Loss of Heritage Lands: Hwy 413 would impact physical & cultural heritage within Mississauga of the Credit First Nation's territory, including ceremonial and burial sites. It could also destroy important archaeological sites of the Wendat.
This HWY should not move forward, and any "true" fiscally conservative governament would not approve it.
