Natural gas is still a fossil fuel. While it may be seen as a cleaner alternative to coal or oil, it still contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. But realistically we need reliable energy. Nuclear, hydro, wind and solar are great electric base load providers. My suggestion would be by using natural gas plants as peak generators and keeping them under 300MW in size is a more environmentally conscious approach, as it can help reduce the overall carbon footprint by relying on them only during times of high demand. We need also to bring in better energy conservation programs and products.
